These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the MEHIT Digital Classroom platform ("MDC", "the platform", "we", "us") operated by Merit Higher Institute of Technology.
By creating an account or accessing the platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the platform.
Access to MEHIT Digital Classroom is restricted to:
Accounts are created or approved by MEHIT administration. Self-registration is available but requires administrative approval before login is permitted. Sharing your login credentials with any other person is strictly prohibited.
MEHIT Digital Classroom is an academic tool. The institution's academic integrity policies apply to all work submitted through the platform. Plagiarism, unauthorized collaboration, or any form of academic dishonesty detected in submissions may result in:
Note: Lecturers and administrators can view all submissions, messages, and activity logs. The platform is not anonymous.
All course materials, lesson content, assignments, and resources uploaded by lecturers and MEHIT remain the intellectual property of their respective creators and/or the institution.
Students retain ownership of original work they submit, but grant MEHIT a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use submitted work for grading, academic review, and institutional assessment purposes.
The MEHIT Digital Classroom platform itself, including its design, code, and branding, is the property of Merit Higher Institute of Technology.
We aim to keep MEHIT Digital Classroom available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The platform may be temporarily unavailable due to:
MEHIT is not liable for any loss resulting from temporary unavailability of the platform, including missed submission deadlines caused by technical issues beyond your control — please contact your lecturer in such cases.
MEHIT reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate any account at its discretion, including but not limited to cases of:
Suspended users will be notified by email where possible. Appeals may be directed to MEHIT administration.
Your use of MEHIT Digital Classroom is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By agreeing to these Terms, you also agree to the Privacy Policy.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MEHIT and its staff shall not be liable for:
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded under Cameroonian law.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date will be revised accordingly. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. Significant changes will be announced through the platform's announcement system.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Cameroon. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Cameroon.
